Structural investigation of supersonic ejector for boosting low pressure wells in Hai Thach gas condensate field Summary To recover gas and condensate at pressure-reducing wells simultaneously with other wells which still give stable flow rate and pressure, a method using a surface device called ejector has been studied to evaluate its technical feasibility and economic efficiency. Ejector is a simple, low-cost solution which can be deployed quickly to increase recovery for pressure-reduced gas condensate wells. The paper presents a numerical method to study the ejector’s performance based on a set of parameters (entrainment and compression ratios). The fluid flowing inside the Ejector is simulated using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) technique. The results of the CFD model was used to study the effect of geometrical dimensions on the ejector’s performance under Hai Thach field’s operating conditions. The primary nozzle (Dt) and the constant cross-sectional area diameter (Dmt) have the highest impact on the ejector’s performance. The diameter of the primary nozzle (Dt) mainly affects the primary fluid flow. Meanwhile, the constant cross-sectional diameter (Dmt) affects the secondary fluid flow. The multi-objective nonlinear programming optimisation technique for ejector application to increase the recovery of gas and condensate for Hai Thach field was developed based on the simulation results of CFD models.
